Well.. I have a range of different betta barracks really! I have an Aqua One 12-tank set up, several divided tanks and a very genius set up (even if i do say so myself! ) which i may recreate and sell on ebay. Basically you can hold 6 bettas on a level, and stack 7-8 stories high! A block of flats for Bettas! It will be available as each compartment seperate to another (to prevent spread of disease) problem is you have to do a few water changes weekly. Or it can be set up as a constant flow system where the water is passed through every compartment and then recycled. I will try to get a pick up soon.
How do others house their bettas? Pics would be good!
What I have is a 4 tier aquarium rack with a 110litre tank per level. I then use mesh dividers to divide the tanks into 12 sections so each fish gets about 9-10 litres each. ill get a pick on here tomorrow.
You could set them up as a drip system, however i wouldn't recommend this. If one of the little guys gets a disease, then they all will. However if you really did want to do it, it's very simple!
I have been making undergravel filters for the compartments this weekend and also 'alternative sponge filters' - without the sponge. They use fine wool and carbon pieces to filter the water and run like a sponge filter but are small enough for the compartments. I would recommend the undergravel filters as they work the best. You can just do a 20% water change bi-weekly if you didn't want the filtration system. Also - with the undergravel filtration, i've designed it to work with the tanks stacked and to run off of one (fairly powerful) air pump. They're expensive to make though i'm afraid. A tray with the undergravel set up including all the pipework, etc would cost: £26.99. When you look at how much it costs to to set up 1 betta tank plus the cost of the actual tank, it's not too bad! Each tray hold 6 bettas so in the long run it's cost effective and space saving!
I would do a deal on 3 tank with all the undergravel filtration & pipe work (not including air pump) for £74.99. Remember - these are stackable!
Anyone have any pictures of their setups. I have now 3 x 55litre tanks, 1 spawning tank, (30 litre), and a larger growing out tank. The 55 litre tank I was going to divide into 3, with nearly 20 litres in each compartment. I was thinking of having this over 3 levels. I thought of putting the heater and filter behind a narrow channel at the rear of the tank, but how do you get the water to circulate with a foam filter. Any help much appreciated
My house is totally filled with tanks in the livingroom and kitchen altogether i have 18 housing spaces for my bettas...i have photos but will need to wait until i get back off my hols at the weekend.
My females are in a 100 litre tank, a 40 litre grow out tank, 17 litre spawning tank, then seven 5.5 litre single male tanks, 21 litre divided hex tank, 95 litre tank single male/community tank, four 7.5 litre tanks for single males, two tubs for single males about 4 litres.
Natalie,- I have only ever kept bettas in community tanks before so please forgive my ignorance! If you are keeping a betta male in for example a 4 litre tub how does it work? I assume you don't have filter/pump/heater? Do you just change most of the water every day or Sorry if this sounds thick!

Dont worry if you dont ask you dont find out things, lol! The ones in the 4 litre tubs get water changes everyday as these are hospital tanks not used as permanent housing. At the mo i have 2 bettas in hospital tubs.
If water is left it gets stinky and fish a prone to get sick so w/c's are essential.
