I was interested to see what and how other people fed their fish?
I basically only feed my fish on frozen and live food (daphnia, artemia, white mosquito lavae, bloodworm (all frozen) and live white worms, artemia etc) and occationally (once a week) feed hikari micro pellets to balance things up a little.
I have dried bloodworm but i dont use it, its not very nutritious and the tough outer membrane on the bloodworm is undigestable for bettas which can cause all sorts of digestion problems so there's not many advantages for me in using them. I just have them around for if i go away and have to rely on my sister or dad to feed them and as i dont expect them to spend a lot of time chopping frozen food up etc.
As far as live food goes Im a big fan of white worms and brine shrimp as long as you dont mind the smell of the worms and youve got the space to keep a 50litre grow up tank for the artemia.
I think its always a good idea to keep a pack of frozen daphnia in the freezer because i always find that imports really dont like dead or processed (pellets) foods so its good for weaning them off their 'thai' diet of fresh daphnia and mosquito larvae onto something a little more convenient for me to use daily
